Valeria Pérez Fuchs - Contemporary Artist

She is an Argentine and Spanish artist who transitioned from the performing arts to the visual arts. She is currently exhibiting at the 61st Venice Biennale, in the national pavilion of the Republic of Equatorial Guinea.

Born in Argentina in 1983, she studied Industrial Design at the University of Buenos Aires and then moved to Barcelona, where she earned a diploma in Performing Arts from La Casona, a center for theatrical research. In 2010, she returned to her hometown and trained in visual arts at the studio of visual artist Ana Fuchs and in dramaturgy with Alejandro Tantanian and Ariel Farace. In 2019, she returned to Catalonia and was invited to join the Reial Cercle Artístic de Barcelona. She currently resides in Buenos Aires and participates in art mentoring sessions, with Argentine artist Hernán Salamanco.

In her painting she explores processes such as crystallization, understanding the image as the result of a slow and silent work where the pigments accumulate and gradually reveal their form.

In 2023, she received the Camarones Grant, which included a residency at Yeruá Taller and curatorial mentorship. In 2016, she received grants from the National Arts Fund and Proteatro for her work "Nadalandia, a theatrical fable." Her solo exhibitions include Semiprecious (2025) at the Royal Artistic Circle of Barcelona and The Aura of Flowers (2023) at Galería Camarones Arte Contemporáneo. She has participated in group exhibitions at Galería Mar Dulce, Wunsch Gallery, Zamora Arte, and other venues in Buenos Aires. As an actress and playwright, she premiered Nadalandia, a theatrical fable (2016, Polonia theater), Alone in a café (2014, Espacio Dínamo, cycle of female monologues) and At the breakwater (2012, Espacio Callejón. 2013, La casona Iluminada) and The new one (2012, Espacio Callejón) within the framework of the cycle "Perfecta Anarquía" directed by Andrea Garrote.
